La chanson "Bend me shape me" a été créée, en 1967, par les Outsiders mais le titre ne rencontrera le succès aux Etats-Unis qu'avec la version des American Breed et en Grande-Bretagne avec celle des Amen Corner. En 1978, le titre retrouvera une nouvelle jeunesse avec la version de Gilla.
En français, le titre sera d'abord adapté par Claude François, "Serre-moi, griffe-moi", puis par Les Aristos, "Chante danse", et enfin par Luc Steeno et Sandra Kim, "Slow moi, rock moi".
La version danoise, "Bøj, bøj-stræk, stræk", sera chantée par Bamses Venner alors qu'en allemand, Ulli Bäer a chanté "Hoit mi, hoit mi".
En finnois, Reijo Kervonnen a chanté "Suljen suuni" alors que Markku Aro interprétait "Muokkaa, muovaa".
En flamand, Luc Steeno et Sandra Kim ont interprété "Bel me, schrijf me".
La version italienne, "Prendi, prendi" a été chantée par Gianni Morandi, par Rosella Santo et par Claude François.
En espagnol, "Dime, dime" a été interprété par Los Angeles alors qu'en slovaque, Začni Oľga chantait "Szabová".
Une parodie, "Bend it shape it", est chantée par Bob the Builder.
