Présentation : En 1989, après le fiasco de l'album Pink bubbles go ape, Kai Hansen quitte Helloween dont il était pourtant le fondateur. Souhaitant se concentrer sur la guitare, il déniche la perle rare en la personne de Ralf Scheepers pour assurer le chant. Uwe Wessels (Basse) et Mathias Burchardt aux fûts complètent le quatuor. C'est ainsi que Gamma Ray est né.

Lust for life, rien à voir avec Iggy Pop, est la seconde plage sur l'album après une introduction instrumentale très "Helloweenienne". C'est un titre speed-mélodique dans la plus pure tradition du heavy-metal allemand.

Hej, chanson typique de "happy-metal" (du speed metal à-la Helloween puisque Kai Hansen est fondateur des deux groupes) avec un chanteur exceptionnel.
Malheureusement Gamma ray a depuis perdu cette inspiration des débuts.
On attend avec impatience "tribute to the past", "man on a mission" ou "somewhere out in space"
