La chanson "The Twist" d'Hank Ballard and The Midnighters a été reprise par Brice Coefield, sous l'intitulé "Cha-Cha twist" mais c'est la version de Chubby Checker qui en fera un succès mondial.
La version française, "Le Twist" est interprétée par Les Chaussettes Noires.
En néerlandais, Kapitein Winokio a chanté "De twist" alors qu'en allemand, Oliver Twist and the Happy Twistler a interprété "Der twist" et que "Kommt, laßt uns twisten geh'n" a été chanté par Volker Rosin und die Lollypops.
En espagnol, "El Twist" a été chanté par Enrique Guzmàn, par Mike Rios, par Chico Valento ainsi que par la Onda Vaselina.
En portugais, Carlos Gonzago a chanté "O twist", alors que la version italienne a été interprétée par Ricky Sanna et par Jo Fedeli.
Parmi les reprises, notons celle de Johnny Preston, celle de Louis Prima, celle de Nancy Holloway ou celle des Platters.
